As the world’s fisheries continue to shrink, many people tend to get angry and oppose fishing as a means for food. These emotions are in fear that our world will be depleted of fish in the near future, and to get frustrated over the situation is justified. On the flip side, the fishing system is in place and provides an economy for those labourers that work for it. It’s a means of survival. From local fisherman, to massive fishing markets, its obvious the world can’t and won’t stop fishing in the near future. There is too much dependance on this source of food. It’s also interesting how on such a small island such as Penghu, Taiwan, people from many different countries come together in search of work in the fishing line of business (pun intended). Thank you to Captain Hook for letting me document your fishing journey!
